In 1986, Jeff and Kerry Williams attended a ‘Freedom In Christ’ Ministry training seminar, eager to learn about this wonderful ministry. Whilst there, a special bond was formed between them and Noel & Phil Gibson as they realised that this was a ministry God had called them into. Over the following decade and a half, Jeff and Kerry Williams sat under the teaching and authority of Mr & Mrs Gibson as they taught them what they had learned in their many years of ministry.
In 1990, God led Jeff and Kerry to plant a church in the heart of Blacktown, and thus, Christian Mission Blacktown was born. In addition to the teaching, counselling and other ministries provided by the church, every person that came to the church was exposed to the teachings of Freedom Ministries, and many came to experience freedom such as they had never experienced before. At the same time, Rev Noel and Phyl Gibson were gradually reducing their ministry workload, referring many potential clients to Jeff and Kerry. Indeed, in their book “Freedom In Christ” published in 1996, Mr & Mrs Gibson writes: “Nobody has run with our deliverance teachings like Jeff and Kerry Williams. They take our overload, teach others, and have regular sessions of open deliverance.” (pg 274).
We are in an era where the whole Great Commission is taught except the deliverance from the demonic principalities and powers! So many people have done such a great disservice to this ministry over the years that many Christians are either too afraid to acknowledge it, or too proud to think that they need it.
Freedom Ministries International is not about a group of so-called experts running around the country telling people that ‘Our way is the only way!’ We want to give this ministry the same credence that Jesus gave it. Every Christian must be set free from bondage to be able to live victorious lives for Christ. In the bible, people were saved, delivered, baptised and set free at the outset. This is how they were able to make such an impact for God almost immediately.
At the same time, every Christian must be prepared to wage spiritual war against Satan and his forces of evil. We want to train all Christians in the basics of this ministry, so that they can then operate in their own church, under the authority and headship of their own pastor. This is the biblical model. This is what Jesus taught, and what the early church practised.
The body of Christ has two choices: We can prepare for the battles that the bible foretells, be ready, and be victorious in all we say and do; or we can, like the proverbial ostrich, stick our heads in the sand and continue living in defeat at every opportunity. If we are not victorious, we are defeated. Join with us as we stand in victory, together with Christ our Lord, as he crushes Satan’s kingdom through us all.
“And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” (Rom 16:20)
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons…” (Mark 16:15-17).
